Another goodbye

We'd like to offer our best wishes to Press-Telegram reporter Joe Stevens, who has announced that he's leaving journalism for the hallowed halls of academia as a teacher.

Stevens came to the Press-Telegram from New York City ten years ago, and has covered a variety of beats from features to news to sports.

If you've ever seen him with kids, it's obvious that he's a natural for the job. We know he'll be a great teacher.

Good luck Joe.

Um... Joe is from Cleveland, not from New York...

His last job before moving to the Press-Telegram was for Newsday, working out of New York.

Len, thank you so much for your kind post. I am one of many faithful Stress-Telegram readers and will remain that way, hoping a contract finally is reached. Ultimately, I'm leaving not to ``escape'' the P-T, but because I absolutely, positively want to teach. Even with all the turmoil and Media News madness, it's not easy to leave that place.

I'll miss working with Stevens. His banter with T. Manzer, Joe D. and Robert had me in stitches many workdays. Good luck and keep in touch champ!

Joe, It's been a blast. You and Alice have always been great union supporters. Thank-you for your commitment to the Clipper beat and sticking it out after MediaNews management yanked it from you.

You are a great writer and will be a great teacher.

Did you know Jesus was a barista?

Joe, I'm going to miss your orange jacket and your witty comments: "Hey we should interview the sidewalk because maybe it saw something!" Have fun teaching and remember, when your hung over in class you can always pop in a movie;o)

Joe, you da' man. Way to finally follow through with that teaching itch you've had for years. Learn your espanol for those brown students.
I agree... Cleveland? NY? Manitoba? Watts! It doesn't matter, Ass Man will be missed.

Pizza Shoes must occasionally change venues. However, his spirit and entrancing smell shall always live on!
